Two Murdoch veterinary students have won the right to represent Australia at prestigious meat judging competitions in the United States.

Murdoch University students meat the challenge

Murdoch University’s team returned victorious from the Intercollegiate Meat Judging competition, placing a close third behind the University of Melbourne and the Texas A&M. Third year animal science student Rachel Cruickshank and fourth year Veterinary student Bridie Luers performed exceptionally well, with Rachel crowned champion in the beef eating quality class and Bridie taking out reserve champion individual in beef carcass judging. In the team awards, Murdoch students Bridie Luers, Rachel Cruickshank, Harriet Moss and Keely McGregor took out reserve champion team in the lamb carcass judging, questions and reasons and primal ID and retail cut identification.
