Students to mix tunes at popular Southbound

Murdoch University will storm the airwaves and unleash three days of music and fun for Southbound festival goers in January.

A total of 25 students and five staff members will broadcast from the Murdoch van from 7am till 1am. Punters can expect to hear stacks of great alternative music, fun competitions, useful festival information, interviews with local bands, and heaps more.

Broadcast on 94.9 to the festival site, the station will be played at security checkpoints, chill out zones, VIP areas and bars.

Janelle Morse, Communications Manager at Sunset Events said the operations team are currently down on site in Busselton, building the festival from the ground up.

“The entire team is very excited for what is sure to be a fantastic festival. We’re thrilled to have Murdoch on board once again and look forward to tuning in to their Southbound broadcast on 94.9FM,” she said.

Southbound is organised by Sunset Events and runs from New Year's Day to January 3.
