Open Your Mind Day – big success August 24, 2010 Around 12,000 people braved the cool weather on Sunday to join in the spirit of discovery and visit Murdoch’s Open Your Mind Day. People interested in studying at Murdoch brought along friends and family members, and after finding out all they needed to know about getting into university they were able to enjoy the fun and festivities. One of the most popular activities was the tour of the Media Arts Centre where visitors could hear how music comes to life in the sound studios and how special effects are created in the film and television studios. The Psychology Clinic entertained the crowd by showing them how to identify micro-expressions and then tested them on spotting the fake smile. Back at the central hub on Bush Court, the younger patrons enjoyed the free rides while others kicked back on the grass to listen to live performances from five different bands including headline act, The Novocaines.
