Over 1,000 Murdoch volunteers will be on hand for this year's Open Day.

As one of the biggest days on the university calendar, Murdoch Open Day is an annual opportunity for the public to learn more about Murdoch’s diverse course offering and experience the unique campus lifestyle.

For prospective students, Open Day is the perfect chance to meet real Murdoch staff and students for honest advice about study options and admission pathways. For the wider community it’s a fun day out exploring the lush natural surrounds of Bush Court and beyond.

Murdoch University Events & Sponsorships Manager, Glenn Hamilton, leads a team dedicated to ensuring Murdoch Open Day delivers an informative and entertaining experience for prospective students and the broader community.

“Open Day is all about showcasing our University to anyone thinking about studying at Murdoch, and helping them to discover our impressive range of courses and entry pathways,” Hamilton said.

“Our aim is to provide a taste of Murdoch life and highlight the distinctive, relaxing outdoor environment we’re fortunate to enjoy each day.”

Guests will begin their Murdoch Open Day experience at The Cube – the day’s central information marquee – to have questions answered, talk to staff and gain advice on Murdoch’s course options, facilities and services.

As Bush Court comes alive, guests can pull up a chair or beanbag and take in the sights, watch all the action and share photos on the big screen, or enjoy acoustic performances by Murdoch students and local band Mosquito Coast.

With information sessions and demonstrations across 227 hectares of campus, there will be plenty to see and do throughout the day. Guided walking tours and regular tram tours will help ensure visitors have the opportunity to experience it all.

Murdoch Open Day is never short on fun, so the young and young at heart can also look forward to rides, sporting challenges and giant board games in the Open Day Entertainment Zone.

This year Murdoch graduates are again encouraged to return to campus to kick up their heels in the Alumni Lounge while enjoying all day refreshments, animal encounters and circus skills workshops.

Full details on all activities planned for this year’s Open Day are available in the 2016 Murdoch Open Day program.

A record number of Murdoch University volunteers will be out in force throughout the day, with over 1000 staff and student helpers on hand to answer questions and guide guests across the campus.More information on the 2016 Murdoch Open Day is available via the Murdoch University website.
