Governor to deliver major public lecture August 22, 2011 His Excellency Mr Malcolm McCusker, AO QC, Governor of Western Australia, will deliver the 2011 Banksia Association Lecture at Murdoch University on Monday 5th September, 2011. Mr McCusker’s lecture, The Rule of Law and the Right to a Fair Trial, will discuss the relationship between these concepts, their origins and their importance in a free and democratic society. The Banksia Association maintains the University’s connection with a special group of individuals who have made an impact on Murdoch University during its 36-year history. Association members include past external members of the University Senate, individuals who have been awarded Honorary Degrees, Emeritus Professors and others. Each year the University invites a Banksia Association member of national or international standing to deliver the Banksia Association Lecture on a topic of interest. The lecture starts at 6pm in the Kim E Beazley Lecture Theatre at Murdoch University’s South Street Campus. Tickets are free but booking is essential via firstname.lastname@example.org or 9360 6176.
