Climate Change – join the conversation

[1]Murdoch University’s Climate Change Teaching Network is hosting an event designed to foster discussion about how we live and respond to challenges posed by a warming world.

Lecturer Dr Davina Boyd said a key part of Climate Talk on October 14 would be the Q&A session hosted by Mayor of Fremantle and Murdoch Senior Lecturer Dr Brad Pettitt.

“The Climate Q&A will bring together practitioners, impassioned people, researchers, teachers and students to discuss burning questions and dilemmas relating to climate change,” Dr Boyd said.

“Dr Pettitt will host a panel of six including former state minister for planning and infrastructure Alannah MacTiernan, Energy Studies Professor Philip Jennings and Director of the Conservation Council [2] WA Piers Verstegen.”

The Climate Talk event also includes the performance of Dystopia, a play showing the fall out after a post-global warming apocalypse, a workshop for academics that teach and research climate change, a creative exhibition by sustainability students and a sundowner.
